THE LEGACY Savannah

Civil Design, Consulting, & Inspections 

The Legacy Savannah is a $300 Million transformational community development. Centered in the heart of the City of Savannah’s commercial/residential corridor – the project is a catalyst for economic and community development featuring 400 residential dwellings, an innovation center, retail, and recreation facilities.

Roberts Civil Engineering (RCE) supported the development team with master planning, infrastructure design, and coordination with City departments to address stormwater management, utilities, roadway access, and phased development requirements. The project included planning for multiple phases consisting of senior housing, mixed-use development, recreational areas, and supporting infrastructure.

MISSION:

  • Find infrastructure funding sources

  • Coordinate with City of Savannah departments on infrastructure, zoning, and permitting requirements

  • Support the redevelopment of a large, multi-phase site into a community-focused housing development
  • Develop a comprehensive infrastructure plan including stormwater, utilities, and roadway systems

  • Provide engineering solutions to support phased construction and long-term site functionality

  • Assist in aligning project design with grant funding requirements and development timelines

SUCCESS:

  • Supported master planning efforts for a multi-phase development including residential, commercial, and recreational components

  • Coordinated with City departments responsible for stormwater, utilities, and transportation to align design with local requirements
  • Developed phased infrastructure strategies to support long-term site buildout and functionality

  • Helped position the project to meet grant funding deadlines and support delivery of affordable housing units to the community

  • Helped secure $2.5M in DCA funding for critical infrastructure.
